Last week Madeline Moyer introduced us to new member John Gantner.   A native of Waukegan, IL, Auxiliary Captain John Gantner served and was a member of The Salvation Army’s church there. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving eight years at various locations from England to Hawaii.  In Hawaii he met his future wife, Auxiliary Captain Tracy Gantner and, after a two year long distance relationship and fulfilling his service with the U.S. Army, they were married in Minnesota. Their daughter, Francis, born in 1990, is currently a licensed counselor on the East Coast.

Captain John’s current journey began in his work at The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Chicago, transitioning to a more extensive role with his service as Assistant Director of Operations for the six territorial Kroc Centers (including Omaha) at the Central Territory’s Headquarters.  His passion for The Salvation Army and mission trips led him to serve on seven global missions’ team trips, which included construction projects in Haiti and Kenya.    Welcome, John!
