Last week Lyle Sapp introduced us to returning Suburban Rotarian, Mike Lucas.

Dr. Mike Lucas officially began his work as Superintendent of Westside Community Schools in June 2019. His career achievements include the Nebraska FFA Cornerstone Leadership Award and the Dale and Tom Hayes Award for outstanding educational leadership, and he came to Westside with well wishes and vocal support from the York, Nebraska community, where he served as Superintendent for 10 years.

Dr. Lucas, a longtime educator with experience as an elementary school principal and 3rd grade teacher in addition to administrator, is also a sought after public speaker and presenter on educational topics.

Mike is the proud father of four children. He also became a grandfather in January 2021. He enjoys attending as many Westside events as he can and doing a little fishing when his schedule allows.   Welcome back, Mike!
