Meeting re-cap 6/7/18

Last week Ron Pearson, Edna Brooks-Pittman, and Judy Sealer served as Greeters. Travis Sholin gave the invocation. We had several announcements and presentations. Jared Bakewell introduced Bill Wax who presented the data from the bi-annual survey from the Long-Range Planning Committee. The RISK bag was at $52 and Dick Caulk won a free lunch.

Rotarian of the Year

Congratulations to Holly Hollenbeck who was recognized as Suburban Rotarian of the Year by the 4-Way Test Committee. Holly has been very active in the club serving as a Board Member and Community Service Committee Chair this year and creating the Homeless Foot Clinic Service Project.

Prospect Hill Cemetery, the oldest pioneer cemetery in Omaha, 3202 Parker Street, has an agreement with Suburban Rotary to Adopt-A-Plot of grounds to keep tidy all during the growing season. Please consider coming for one of the following future Saturday's, from 10 a.m.-noon, and help weed whack, rake yard waste, sweep the curbs, pick up sticks and pick up litter. Attendance credit guaranteed for your two hour effort. The following Saturdays include: June 30th, July 28th, August 25 and September 22nd. Please contact Ward Peters and have some fun on the beautiful grounds.

Please keep John and Rachel Steier in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. John's parents were the couple tragically killed in the airplane crash at the Millard Airport. Their address is 1605 S. 151st Avenue Circle, Omaha, NE 68154.

Former member Susan Huntley-Gruenther (relocated to Chicago) is turning 70 soon and her daughter is putting together a memory box for her with notes from friends and family. You can submit one online by CLICKING HERE. The deadline is July 3rd.
