We are saddened by the passing of long-time Rotarian Dr. Al Frank. Dr. Frank was a "satellite" member with us for many years after retiring to Arizona. Dr. Frank passed away in Kansas City on June 15th. Services were held there. Dr. Frank along with Ann Coyne was one of the first Suburban Rotarians of the Year for his humanitarian work in Nicaragua. He was a generous man with a great sense of humor and will be missed. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. You can send your condolences to his wife Cindy Frank at 4301 N. Camino de Carrillo. Click HERE to read his obituary in the Omaha World Herald.
Last week Deanna Fuller, Angela Phillips, and Roxy Orr served as Greeters. Steve Thornburg gave the invocation. Gary Beller and Ken Jansen served as the new member table hosts. Curt Peters and Kevin Welsh were back to fill in as President and Secretary. We had several announcements. Cindy Kinsler introduced Richard Cochran who talked to us about the mission of Hot Meals USA which provides disaster relief help. The RISK bag was at $74 and Deanna Fuller won a free lunch.
Last week Frank Goldberg introduced us to new member Ryan Bouda. At only 22 years old, Ryan will be one of the youngest members of the Suburban Rotary. Ryan’s entrepreneurial spirit began long before choosing his current career path. At 13 years old, he owned and operated a yard care business with three employees, his two brothers and their neighbor, taking care of dozens of houses in their neighborhood. In high school, Ryan lettered four years in two separate sports and was active in over 20 different clubs and activities over his four years. As President of the Service and Habitat for Humanity Clubs, Ryan participated in four services trips included Rosebud Indian Reservation and Haiti, and two more throughout college. His lawn care business grew throughout college into a small construction company that he managed on the weekends to pay his way through college.
After finishing his Engineering Degree from the University of Nebraska in only three years, Ryan decided to change his career path to begin building the people inside of the buildings. Before even graduating college, Ryan became a founded partner of LEAP Training & Coaching, a team of coaches and trainers who specialize in leadership, organizational and team building. Immediately, he began his professional training in Conversational Intelligence, a research-based scientifically-proven coaching methodology focused on the neuroscience of conversations. Now, as an expert in C-IQ, Ryan specializes in communication patterns, culture development and leadership skills. He is excited to join an organization founded in rich principles of integrity, community and service. Welcome, Ryan!
