Last week Rotary Foundation Committee Chair Julie Livingston recognized two members for their donations of $1000 to the Rotary Foundation making them Paul Harris Fellows..  The Rotary Foundation supports projects to eradicate diseases (esp. polio), provide education, sanitation, clean water, nutrition, and health care around the world including our club's projects in Afghanistan and Nicaragua.

When asked why he supports the Rotary Foundation, Don Leu said he saw the effects polio had on a friend’s family and believes in the mission of eradicating this dread disease from the face of the earth and also the mission of providing water to parts of the world where there is none readily accessible.  Don also said, “I am awed by others who have come before me and have given so much.  It has inspired me to give too.”

John Wygoski said, “What we are doing with the money is serious and good.  Rotary has control over it and we have input into projects.  Most charities don’t operate that way.”

Thank you and congratulations!
