Rotary Foundation Minute
Our Rotary Foundation Committee (the charitable arm of Rotary Intl) will be bringing you a "Rotary Foundation Minute" each week this fall.

The Rotary Foundation is the charitable arm of Rotary. The Foundation
transforms donations into service projects.

Global Grants

The Global Grant Program was launched in 2013-14. The first year, the
Foundation awarded 868 Global grants worth $47.3 million. By 2019-20,
the number of Global Grants increased to 1359, worth $95.6 million. The
demand for Global Grants is far greater than what is available.
Global Grants must align with one or more of the seven areas of focus.
The minimum budget for a Global Grant is $30,000 and the maximum
amount is $400,000.

Global Grants require a partnership between the club or district where
the activity will occur and a club or district in another country.
Global Grant funding is an investment in lasting change so the project
has to be sustainable after the funds have been spent.
Examples of Suburban Global Grant Projects are:

*The Hope for Togo: Center for Excellence Hospital and Health
Centers.
*The Zabuli Education Center Science Lab Project.

Share your Rotary Story!
This year, Rotary District 5650 will be embarking on an exciting new marketing campaign unlike anything we've ever done! A central part of our effort is to tell the stories of Rotarians like you who are serving your communities through video and written articles.
Help us showcase the benefits you receive through Rotary membership and the good we do in our local communities and around the world.

Nominate yourself (which is highly encouraged) or a fellow Rotarian for consideration now!

We're also looking for Rotarians to join the public image committee and help with this campaign.

Last, we've launched a request for proposal to seek bids for the videography element of our campaign with submissions due August 20th.

Visit our new microsite at RotaryMemberStories.org to get involved.

Yours in Rotary,

Jared Bakewell
