Last week re-cap 
Last week Dick Caulk and Ken Jansen served as Greeters. Cindy Kinsler gave the invocation.  We had several announcements and presentations.  Rex Ekwall introduced Fred Hoiberg who gave us an update on the status of the University of Nebraska mens' basketball program.   The RISK bag was at $362 and one of our visitors won a free lunch.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Suburban Foundation Recognition 
 Last week several of our very generous club members were recognized for their cumulative giving to our local Suburban Rotary Foundation.   The Suburban Rotary Foundation supports a variety of initiatives including ou our scholarship program, our District grant projects like meal packaging and the homeless foot clinic, our exchange students and many more things.  Congratulations and thank you to you all!
C.L. Landen was recognized as a Friend of Suburban Rotary for $2500 of cumulative giving.
 
Dave Laferla and Kathryn Schubert were recognized as Patrons of Suburban Rotary for each donating $5000.
 
Alan Stanek was recognized as a member of the Executive Director's Club for his cumulative donations of $10,000.
 
John Hoich was recognized as a member of the Howard Vann President's Club for his cumulative giving of $25,000.

Service Opportunities 
Thank you to our awesome volunteers who braved the cold on Saturday morning to clean up our stretch of highway last weekend!
 
Salvation Army Bell Ringing is coming up on November 16th and December 14th. We will be at the HyVee out at 132nd and Dodge in the Linden Market.   We need almost 60 people to fill all of the shifts.  Your family and friends are welcome! Sign up by clicking the calendar online and then selecting your date and shift.
 
 
 
October After Hours
 
Mark your calendar for our next After Hours at Beau Jayou (2947 So 108th Street) on October 24th,  4-7 pm.  
hosted by Rose Mary Hefley.  This is a new gift shop in Omaha.  Bring a guest! 
 
We will also have a private showing of "Witness: The Art Samuel Bak"  exhibit Thanks to the UNO Sam and Frances Fried Holocaust and Genocide Academy and the Natan and Hannah Schwalb Center for Israel and Jewish Studies, the showing and a series of related public events will be free and open to the public.  Suburban Rotary will visit on Wednesday, October 30th from 5-7 pm.  Samuel Bak is a Holocaust survivor and artist 
It will be located in the Weber Fine Arts building on UNO's campus.
