Meeting re-cap 3/24
Last week Roxy Orr and Marlene Sullivan served as our greeters.  Walt Price gave our invocation.  We had several announcements and presentations.  Curt Peters recognized Jared Bakewell as a "gift to the world" for all his work for the club especially on fundraising.  Jared, Lyle Sapp, and Roxy Orr presented on the Suburban Rotary Charitable Foundation, our Scholarship program, and other projects the Foundation supports. The Risk bag was at $488 and Walt Price won a free lunch.

Suburban Rotary Charitable Foundation Fundraiser
Last week was the kick-off for this fundraiser which supports all of our club's activities including our fabulous Scholarship Program. Our goal for this drive is $40,000.  So far with donations prior to the fundraiser start and last week, we are at $18,710.  Our hope is that all club members will support this drive with a donation of any amount.

Thank you to those who have already donated this year.   Scholarship Circle Members (donation or pledge of $300) are indicated in bold.
We presented several Scholarship Circle members with their certificates last week (unfortunately the photo did not turn out!)

Rotary Leadership Institute provides an opportunity for Rotary Club Members to discover Rotary.  This is not "position-specific training".  It is a facilitated, activity-based program that allows all participants to share experiences and solve problems.  We all work together:

Participants are:
- Long-term members and New Members
- Young and Old
- Some Members have Club Positions, some do not
- District Leaders will be at the sessions

The Participants will:
- Spend some time learning about Rotary
- Use and enhance your leadership skills
- Make new friends and build partnerships
- Get more out of Rotary

Recent testimonial:  I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at RLI.  I have met many interesting people and, with each session, leave with a new enthusiasm for Rotary.  I believe that everyone should attend RLI.

Please contact Jennifer if you are interested in this opportunity.
