Last week Nick Eastland and David Jacobs served as Greeters. Amanda Fink gave the invocation.  We had several announcements and a new member introduction.  Steve Thornburg  introduced Sarah Johnson who talked about her experiences and advocating for safe streets.   Jared Bakewell filled in for Nick Jasa for President and there was no RISK drawing.
Welcome John Ludlow!
Last week Jim Kapalis introduced us to new member John Ludlow.  John is a Financial Consultant with Fidelity Investments  who has worked in the financial services industry for 24 years.  He is a current holder of Certified Financial Planner designation as well as Series 7, 9/10, 63 and 65 securities industry licenses.  He has prior experience as a COO of local investment manager, CLS Investments and former Financial Advisor in Silicon Valley CA area.  John has three grown children, and two grandchildren.  In his free time, John enjoys running and building custom furniture.  Welcome, John!
Service Opportunities
We need your help for our next two activities:
Saturday, June 15th  730-1030 Highway Clean-Up
Saturday, June 29th 9 am Cemetery Clean-Up
Want to enjoy the great outdoors and enjoy being above ground?  Then come to the next Adopt A Plot yard waste clean up at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 3202 Parker Street, where our club has made a commitment to return every three weeks to tidy up a visible section of the oldest cemetery in Omaha.  Our next time to get 'er done is Saturday, June 8th, at 9:00 a.m.  We rake, sweep, weed whack, pick up sticks and litter and make the grounds look respectable.   Cookies and blisters galore!  Future Saturday Adopt A Plot clean up days include: , 7/27, 8/17 and 9/14.  Contact Ward Peters and join in on the fun!
Attend the District Conference!
NEW - the District Conference Itinerary has been published - click here.
Have you registered yet?  We are getting excited about the conference this year! It will be held on July 26-27 at the Lied Lodge and Conference Center in Nebraska City.
On Friday night, you will have the option to go for a dinner cruise on the Belle of Brownville or we will have other options for you to choose from.
The theme this year is “Shape the Future” and you will have some time to spend together as a family, helping with our service project, and also some free time to explore Nebraska City – we will have a lot of information available about what there is to do while you are in town.
Rotary Convention
Last week President- Elect Tom Kerfoot and Jennifer attended the Rotary Intl. Convention in Hamburg, Germany.   If you have ever wanted to attend an Intl. Convention, considere going to Hawaii next summer. You need to register soon as this convention appears to be very popular.  It's a great way to become inspired and make connections with Rotarians from around the world.
Join us at the Certified Transmission Museum THIS THURSDAY!
Join us (and bring a guest) to the After Hours at the Certified Transmission Car Museum (5404 Cedar Street) for the last After Hours of the 18/19 Rotary year.  Food, drinks, and fabulous cars await you!
