Service Opportunities- We need your help!
On Saturday, June 1st Suburban Rotary is going to hold our first-ever career fair for young adults exiting foster care and other at-risk youth.   Approximately 23K kids age out of foster care each year.  About 20% of these will become homeless after turning 18 and leaving the system.  By age 24 only 1 out of every 2 young adults aging out of foster care will have gainful employment.  This career fair is Suburban Rotary's attempt to do something about these statistics.

We will have employers and career resources for these young people on at Center Mall (1941 S. 42nd Street) for students to learn about opportunities for employment, military service, health care and other community resources. We will provide lunch and goody bags for the young people and will hold gift card drawing as an incentive to visit the booths.  Please join us and volunteer this day to help young people in our community.  We need approximately 35 volunteers. If you would like to donate a gift card or prize, please contact Kelly Adams.

Saturday, June 1st Career Fair for At-Risk and Foster Care Youth

Want to enjoy the great outdoors and enjoy being above ground?  Then come to the next Adopt A Plot yard waste clean up at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 3202 Parker Street, where our club has made a commitment to return every three weeks to tidy up a visible section of the oldest cemetery in Omaha.  Our next time to get 'er done is Saturday, June 8th, at 9:30 a.m.  We rake, sweep, weed whack, pick up sticks and litter and make the grounds look respectable.   Cookies and blisters galore!  Future Saturday Adopt A Plot clean up days include: 6/29, 7/27, 8/17 and 9/14.  Contact Ward Peters and join in on the fun!
About Us
