Happy Independence Day!
Last week re-cap
Last week Judy Sealer gave the invocation. Kelly Adams and Madeline Moyers served as Greeters.  We had several announcements and presentations.   Jared Bakewell and Katie Henry filled in as President and Secretary.  Steve Thornburg introduced Carrie Meyer who talked to us about the T-rex exhibit at the Durham museum and other events and exhibits.  The RISK bag was at $111 and Warren Hill won a free lunch.
Engagement Award
Last week Angeline Larson presented Jeff Bakewell, Judy Sealer, Jared Bakewell, Bob Perrin, and Alice Schumaker with the Suburban Rotary Engagement Award. Congratulations to those who participated at this level in the 2018-2019 year!
Congratulations to Scott Keep- 1 year, Erin Cohrs-2 years, Gregg Bailey- 5, Nick Eastland-34 years of perfect attendance.  They were recognized last week by Dick Miller.
Committee Help Needed
A few committees need some more members:  Interact (high school Rotary at Millard North),  After Hours, Car Show, and Buy the Big Wheel. If you are willing to help on one of these, please let Jennifer know.
Save the Date- Metro Luncheon!
The Metro luncheon will be Thursday, August 15th at Anthony's.  It will feature Tom Osborne.  You must have reservations to attend and seats are limited to 300. We will start taking reservations next week.
Service Opportunities
Thanks to our hard-working and sweaty volunteers who cleaned up at Prospect Hill last weekend! The next opportunity is July 27th.
Want to enjoy the great outdoors and enjoy being above ground?  Then come to the next Adopt A Plot yard waste clean up at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 3202 Parker Street, where our club has made a commitment to return every three weeks to tidy up a visible section of the oldest cemetery in Omaha.  Our next time to get 'er done is Saturday, June 8th, at 9:00 a.m.  We rake, sweep, weed whack, pick up sticks and litter and make the grounds look respectable.   Cookies and blisters galore!  Future Saturday Adopt A Plot clean up days include:  8/17 and 9/14.  Contact Ward Peters and join in on the fun!
Advertise your business in the new roster- update your info!
A new roster will be published in August.  Books will be circulating at the Thursday meeting or email Jennifer any changes or corrections.  You can also place an ad in this year's roster.
Connect your business with Suburban Rotary members!
ADVERTISE  in the Rotary Roster and you will be in the  roster and your LOGO will be on the Website and Scuttlebutt.
Just imagine, when a member needs a certain good or service,  how easy it will be for members to find you or any other member business category. These listings will be the place to go!
These reasonable ads support the administrative costs of your club. Click here for sizes and cost.
Commit today!  Ad Copy Deadline August 15th. More details?  Dan Hosford or 402-612-4783
Attend the District Conference!
NEW - the District Conference Itinerary has been published - click here.
Have you registered yet?  We are getting excited about the conference this year! It will be held on July 26-27 at the Lied Lodge and Conference Center in Nebraska City.
On Friday night, you will have the option to go for a dinner cruise on the Belle of Brownville or we will have other options for you to choose from.
The theme this year is “Shape the Future” and you will have some time to spend together as a family, helping with our service project, and also some free time to explore Nebraska City – we will have a lot of information available about what there is to do while you are in town.
After Hours at the Storm Chasers
Join us for a special After Hours at the Omaha Storm Chasers on July 18th.  Tickets are only $10 with $3 going to Rejuvenating Women.  CLICK HERE to get your tickets.
