and turn it into Jennifer. Annual dues invoices will be sent out in May and annual dues ($295 will be due in June). If you are already on monthly dues withdrawals no action is needed unless you want to make a change.

Meeting re-cap 4/21

Last week Zach Daub and Dave Wilson served as our greeters. Rebecca Vinton gave the invocation. We had several announcements and recognition of the Scholarship Circle members. Curt recognized the scholarship committee members as "Gifts to the World" for their work on the luncheon. Secretary Kevin Welsh recognized birthdays for April and handed out a fine or two with Hanging Judge Fritz Stehlik. Amanda Fink introduced Connor Rensch who shared her transformation to a healthy lifestyle journey. The RISK bag was at $571 and Cindy Kinsler (enthusiastically) won a free lunch.

Suburban Rotary Charitable Foundation Fundraiser

This is the LAST WEEK of our annual fundraiser which supports all of our club's activities including our fabulous Scholarship Program. Our goal for this drive is $40,000. So far with donations last week, we are at $38,590 or at 96% of our goal. Our goal for participation is 80% of our membership and we have 64% so far. Our hope is that all club members will support this drive with a donation in any amount.

Staff Day May 12th

The annual luncheon where we show appreciation to staff from work is May 12th. Lunch will be $15 and a buffett. Please mark this date to bring someone to Rotary whom you want to appreciate.

DEA Rx Drug Take-back- Saturday, April 30th at Walgreens 135th and Q- several shifts available from 9:45-2:15. Dispose properly of prescription medications to keep them out of the hands of kids and teens.

Omaha Downtown Rotary's 8th Grade Honor Roll luncheon

The Rotary Club of Omaha (Downtown) will honor 425 local 8^th grade students at the 89^th annual eighth grade Rotary Honor Roll Luncheon. The luncheon will be held on Wednesday, May 4th at 11:30 am at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha.

The students who will be recognized were chosen from 8,300 8^th grade students at 57 metro area schools. Teachers and administrators selected the students based on criteria provided by Rotary.

“Each of the 425 students we will recognize at our luncheon should be proud of their accomplishment,” said Sean Olson, President for the Rotary Club of Omaha (also known as the Downtown Rotary Club). “They were selected based on their leadership, character, scholarship and presence. Downtown Rotary is proud to honor these hard working students.”

This year’s Rotary Honor Roll speaker is actor, comedian and magician and Omaha native, Pat Hazell. One of the original writers for NBC's Seinfeld and a Tonight Show veteran, Hazell is a critically acclaimed playwright and a contributing commentator to National Public Radio. He now resides in Austin Texas, but will be returning to Omaha to share his thoughts on leadership and getting involved in something you’re passionate about.

No tickets will be sold at the event. To order tickets to the Rotary Honor Roll luncheon, visit the Omaha Downtown Rotary website (http://honorroll.omaharotary.org). Reservations and payment must be received by Monday, April 25^th. Seating is made in the order reservations are received.
