Meal Cost and Meeting Only fees
As of this week, meal prices at German American will go to $20.   They are allowing us to trial a "meeting only" fee which will be $10 per person through the end of June.   Zoom fees will also remain $10. If you have been waiting to rejoin us in person, we hope that this will encourage you to do so.   We know inflation is hitting everyone and GAS is raising prices due to rising food/labor costs.   We are fortunate that they do not charge us a room fee, so consider that part of your fee goes to that.  Thank you so much for your understanding.
Yearlings is Changing and we Need Your Help!
Beginning on July 1, Yearlings meetings will no longer be held monthly.  Instead new Blue Badge requirements were passed by the Board in April.   Monthly orientation meetings will be offered after the 1st meeting of each month.   Quarterly social meetings will be held and service cohorts will be organized to plan a project with a mentor.

We are in need of dedicated Rotarians who are willing to help with these various activities.  If you have a heart for Rotary and want to help new members become engaged, please contact Mitch McCartney or Jennifer to let them know you are willing to serve on this committee for the 22-23 Rotary year.
Suburban Foundation Recognition
Over the last two weeks Foundation Trustees Tom Kerfoot and John Hoich recognized several Rotarians for their donations to the the Suburban Rotary Charitable Foundation.  .   Donations to our local Foundation support our scholarship program, our District grant projects like meal packaging and the homeless foot clinic, our exchange students,  and many more things.  Congratulations and thank you!

Bring Your Shoes this Thursday!

Each year in America, 300 million pairs of shoes are thrown into landfills, taking an average of 30 to 40 years for just one pair to decompose. Tennis shoes take 60 years and release toxic chemicals into our soil as they decompose.

Suburban Rotary, our Adopt-A-School Partner Crestridge Elementary, and Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) have teamed up to collect gently used shoes this week to donate to Souls4Soles. Souls4Souls is a national nonprofit dedicated to extending the life of shoes and helping people in developing countries. Your shoes will be shipped to others who need them.

Make a difference and help the Crestridge kids make their goal of 750 pairs of shoes. Bring your gently used shoes to Rotary this Thursday.
Refugee Item Collection
Restoring Dignity provides gently used household items for newly resettled Refugee Family items at no or low-cost to help them with their resettlement to Omaha.  We will be collecting items at the next 3 Thursday meetings. Please see the links below for information on needed items.
