Last week Dan Lupardus and Roxy Orr served as our Greeters.  Holly Hollenbeck gave the invocation. We had several presentations and announcements. The hanging judge and Secretary Kevin Welsh handed out a few fines.    Jack Hosking introduced Pat Slattery who talked about the Catholic Schools in Omaha and their impact on students and the community.  The risk bag was at $93 and Cindy Kinsler won a free lunch.

Last week Foundation Chair Julie Livingston recognized Rotarians for their giving to the International Rotary Foundation.  The Rotary Foundation supports causes around the world including health, nutrition, literacy, and disease-eradication efforts.   Rotary Foundation funds have been used by our club to send science kits to the girls' school in Afghanistan, as well as for local projects such as the Crestridge Health Fair.

We were pleased to recognize two new Paul Harris Fellows for their donations to the Rotary Foundation of $1000.  Here's why they said they give:

Lisa Walker Sekundiak: “It’s in my blood.  I give because it’s what we do.  Suburban Rotary is an organization in our community that I am proud to be a part of.”
Marlon Lofgren: “I know there are not a lot of administrative expenses at TRF so I can be confident in how my donations are being used, unlike many other charities.  I also like the international aspect of it.”

John Binderup was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow+2 for his donations of $3000.  He said, "  “Many worthwhile projects, both local and international.  One easy monthly payment!”

Alan Stanek was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow +4 for his donations of $5000 to the Rotary Foundation.  He said he gives,  “Because it’s the right thing to do.  It’s a fun way to honor various recipients—I’ve used my points to make Paul Harris Fellows of my wife, kids, in-laws, and now grand-kids."

Thank you and congratulations to all!

Congratulations and thank you for your generosity!

Last week's video was inspirational look at the impact of the Rotary Foundation.

Make plans for you and guest to attend our Annual Holiday Luncheon on Thursday, December 17th at Anthony's.  Lunch will feature a delicious buffet of beef tips, chicken alfredo, baked potatoes, and dessert.   We will have entertainment by The Amazing Arthur.

Payment will be on the day of the luncheon. Pre-registering of guests is not required but if you let Jennifer know guest names ahead of time, she can have nametags ready for you.

Cost is $25 per person.
Last week Ashley Baker announced rather than collecting funds for the Santa's Workshop gifts for Crestridge students that the Trustees had allocated $500 in funds from our local Foundation to go towards this.  THANK YOU for your donations to our fundraiser throughout the year that provide for this and many other projects including our $50,000 a year in scholarships.

On Friday, several staff members and Adopt A School Committee members took several students shopping for warm clothes. Thanks to your generous donations at Keep the Kids Warm, students were able to purchase pants, shirts, coats, and sweatshirts.   It was wonderful to see their smiling faces when they received their items thanks to YOUR generosity!

A big thanks to LINDLEY CLOTHING for hosting the Keep the Kids Warm Event.  Congratulations to Gary Beller who was the winner of the free suit drawing!

Thanks to Nick Jasa/One Source for hosting a fun After Hours with bowling and Santa!

Every year, hundreds of thousands of people – children, families and entire communities – benefit from projects funded by The Rotary Foundation.  Its concentration is in six areas of focus:  promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education and growing local economies.

Please consider joining your fellow Rotarians by becoming a Sustaining Member this year with a $100 donation (or any amount is appreciated!).  You can even donate monthly with as little as $10 per month.  Our goal is 100% participation! First-time donors have the opportunity to get a match from the club so your first $100 toward your Paul Harris Fellowship will be turned into $200.  To donate online go to myrotary.org and set up an account. Your member # is on the address label of your Rotarian magazine and our club # is 1535 (let Jennifer know you've done this so she can add you to our participating member list.)

Thank you to those Rotarians who have already made a commitment to support the Rotary Foundation this year as a Sustaining Member earlier this year or with their dues! (If you think you should be on this list, please let us know.  Recent online donations may not be on our report yet so please let us know if you made an online donation.) New donors this week in bold.
