Last week re-cap
Last week kicked off our first meeting with President Nick Jasa and Secretary Andy "Ticky- Tock" Goranson.   John Maxell and Madeline Moyer served as greeters and Kim-Jae Kang gave our invocation.  Ward Peters and Judy Sealer hosted our new member mingle tables.  We had lots of announcements and presentations.   Jeff Moran introduced Jerry Murtaugh who gave an impassioned talk on his Nebraska Greats Foundation.  He also had everyone laughing with his opinions and thoughts on everything from "playing without a helmet" to the NFL.
The RISK bag was at $89 and Tracy Rowland won a free lunch.

Welcome Eli McNichols!
Last week Jennifer Jirak-Brungardt introduced us to Elizabeth "Eli" McNichols.   She is a third generation Omaha Rotarian and daughter of Past District 5650 Governor Larry McNichols.  She has been a 23 year, perfect attendance, member of Omaha North.  The past ten years she has served as Executive Director but has also served as an ADG, President twice and in other capacities.  She is a Paul Harris plus two donor and a benefactor as well as a Rotary Leadership Institute Graduate.  She is also the Goddaughter of former Suburban Rotarian Jim Rosenquist.

She is currently working at Walmart down the street and has been there since before it opened ten years ago.  She just retired from working at Joslyn Castle for 24 years.  She has been in the financial world of retirement plan trust administration and First National Bank and FirsTier Bank for twenty years prior to Walmart.

She currently serves on the Dundee/Memorial Park Board and the National Society of Colonial Dames in Nebraska Board.  She has been involved in many organizations including Central High School Alumni Board (president and Chairman of the Hall of Fame), Red Cross by donating over 23 gallons of blood so far, UNO and Creighton Foreign Student Host Family-30 years (21 countries, five continents), Gamma Phi Beta Alumni group and others.

She has a MS from UNO and BA from Drake University in Sociology/Gerontology.  Welcome, Eli!

18-19 Officers
Last week Nick Jasa recognized our incoming officers for the new Rotary year.  Left to right: Nick Jasa, President, Tom Kerfoot, President Elect, Andy Goranson, Secretary, Joe Sequenzia, Sgt. at Arms, Randy Wieseler, Treasurer.
Thanks for your service to the club!

District awards
Last week Past President Jared Bakewell presented the District awards to the club represented by Roxy Orr, Holly Hollenbeck, and Jennifer Jirak-Brungardt. We were #1 in per capita Rotary Foundation giving, best large club community service project (homeless foot clinic), and #6 club in the District based on a points system for members, dollars, and projects.
Congratulations!
to Jim Kapalis and Mark Renner who received their permanent badges from Yearlings Chair Amanda Fink for completing all Yearlings requirements!
