Winter Weather Policy
With Winter finally here, just a reminder that Suburban Rotary including Board/Yearlings meetings are cancelled if/when the University of Nebraska at Omaha cancels classes NOT OPS.      Also, if you are considering a make-up, please note that NW, West, Downtown, Morning, and North all cancel when OPS cancels and Millard cancels when Millard Public Schools cancels.

Last week Ron Pearson, Jeff Moran, and Andrew Weseley served as Greeters. David Richards gave the invocation.  Kathryn Schubert announced the Slate of Officers for 18-19.  Jeff Bakewell moved to approve the nomination committee's Slate of Officers.  John Hoich seconded. Motion passed.   The Committee Chairs each gave an update on what had been accomplished so far this year and what their plans were for the remainder of the year.  The RISK bag was at $586 and John Ryan won a free lunch.

Volunteers Needed
We need two volunteers for Winter Night Watch for Friday, January 19th.    Kids ages 14 and up are welcome to help you but you must sign them up for a spot.  No more than 2 people can be in the back of the van each night.  To sign up go to our website suburbanrotary.org and then click on the calendar and the event and select your spot.

Souper Bowl Food Drive will be at the Peony Park Hyvee on Friday, February 2nd and 3rd.  We will be collecting food and money for our meal packaging project on February 17th.   Sign up online to help. All ages welcome.

Our annual meal packaging project has gotten even bigger this year. 4 clubs will be participating including Millard, Southwest, and West along with us.  160 volunteers are needed to package meals for hungry families in Omaha.   All ages are welcome to help with this. Step stools can be provided for young volunteers and seating for those who cannot stand for a long time. Please invite your friends and family to help with this great project.
