Last week Rotary Foundation Committee Chair Howard Epstein recognized Dave Laferla and Randy Wieseler as Paul Harris Fellows +1 for their $2000 donations to the International Rotary Foundation. When asked why they support the Foundation, Dave said, " The example of Joe Laferla's dedication to the ideals of Rotary and his participation in the Paul Harris program throughout his life, provides a constant motivation to me to understand the purpose of and support the Rotary International Foundation." Randy said, "I donate to the Foundation to support the World Community Service Projects. This is one of the reasons that I am a Rotarian." Thank you and congratulations to them both!

Military affairs Fundraiser- For the next month the committee will be selling savings sidekick books at the meetings to raise funds to support projects benefiting local troops. books are $20 and you can buy them or donate them to the troops. You can also make tax-deductible donations to our foundation for these projects.

Rotary Young professionals summit
Downtown Rotary is putting on a special Young Professionals event on September 29th at 11:30 at the UNO Thompson Alumni Center. Cost is $30 but use code DowntownRotary when registering to save $5. Includes fantastic speakers, lunch, a service project, and happy hour.
