Last week Steve Thornburg and Jared Wills served as Greeters. Adam Nordstrom gave the invocation. Roxy recognized Fritz Stehlik as the "Light Up Rotarian".  We had several announcements and a new member introduction. Jared Bakewell filled in as Secretary for Nick Jasa.  Judy Cline introduced Julie Cornell who talked about her award-winning story on the Healing Kadi project in South Sudan as well as some of the other documentaries she has done.  The RISK bag was at $66 and Rich Rowland won a free lunch.

Last week Marlon Lofgren introduced us to new member Aaron Martens. Aaron is a 2nd Vice President at First National Bank where he has worked for 12 years. He is part of the Commercial Lending Group.   Aaron is an Omaha North and University of Nebraska-Lincoln grad.  He also holds an MBA from UNO.

Aaron is engaged to Sarah Clark.  He enjoys hanging out with his black lab named Ellie and spends his free time on golf, hockey, and home remodeling. Welcome Aaron!

Thanks to all the Rotarians, their friends, and family who came and helped with the Rebuilding Omaha project this weekend.  They painted, sanded, nailed, sawed, and cleaned for our homeowner.  A special thanks to Dave Kerber (pictured with the homeowner) who headed up this project and stayed all day!  See all our photos on Facebook by clicking here.
This week and next week volunteers will be at the back to take your reservation and payment for the Annual Scholarship Luncheon. This will be on Thursday, May 14th. This is our DO NOT MISS event of the year.  You will leave inspired!
Cost is $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
Thank you to all those who donated to our Annual Suburban Rotary Charitable Foundation fundraiser.  You are incredibly generous!  We had a record-breaking year RAISING $50,0000!   We will continue to recognize President Scholarship Circle members until all have been recognized.

Please keep Secretary Nick Jasa in your thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery from shoulder surgery.  Nick's address is 3424 S. 94th St., Omaha, NE 68124.   Below is a photo of Nick receiving the Champion Service Bell Ringer service club award at the Salvation Army recognition breakfast a couple of weeks ago on behalf of the club.  Is this how he hurt that shoulder?
