Last week Andy Goranson and Jasmine Alvarado served as our greeters. Mark Roberts gave our invocation. Secretary Dave Laferla introduced our guests and recognized birthdays and "brag for bucks". Bob Perrin introduced PDG Jim Griesen and Dan Blankenau who talked about the District's work in Zambia. The RISK bag was at $890 and Jim Conway won a free lunch.

Rotary Foundation

Congratulations and thank you to the Stehliks who were recognized by Rotary Foundation Committee Chair Howard Epstein last week for their generosity to the Rotary Foundation. The Rotary Foundation is the charity of Rotary. Through Rotary grants, people around the world are served with educational opportunities, health services, clean water, vaccinations, and nutrition. Charlene Stehlik became a Paul Harris Fellow.

Meal Packaging Project- Help Needed THIS SATURDAY!

We need lots of Rotarians, friends, and family to sign up for the meal-packaging project on Saturday, February 25th. Please go to the calendar and click on the event to sign up. We are doing this in conjunction with Southwest and West Rotary and the food will go to Heartland Hope which supplies pantries and shelters around the metro. This project is suitable for all ages!

Is your New Year's Resolution to grow your business? If so, here's a great and inexpensive place to start. Last year we had over 200 Rotarians and guests from all over the metro area attend. Reserve your booth now! Please note the venue to change to Champions club.

Wine and Dine at Rotary on April 27th!

The Membership Committee is conducting a contest between now and April 20th. The 8 members who bring the most guests to visit Rotary during this time frame will receive a special lunch (at no charge) with table service and dessert on April 27th! You know how much fun you have at Rotary- why are you keeping it a secret? Who do you know that would enjoy being part of our fabulous group? Bring them to check us out!

Rotary Youth Leadership Award Applications Sought

As you may be aware every April our district coordinates Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp. RYLA camp (April 7-9, 2017) is an intensive 3-day training program for High School Juniors that helps participants think critically about important issues and share ideas with talented peers, learn how to coordinate and lead community service projects, discuss the importance of good governance and civil society to the world, and finally, learn to think globally and explore issues that transcend national and cultural boundaries.

To make the camp a success we seek students from diverse backgrounds throughout the district. Diversity in this context refers to any student who is interested in local and global issues and whose participation in this program would help expand and add to their current experiences and perspectives. We seek your help to spread the word about this amazing opportunity and to encourage students you believe would benefit from this experience to apply.
