Last week Mark Roberts and Magan Smith served as our greeters. David Kutler gave our invocation. Curt Peters filled in for President Kathryn Schubert. Secretary Dave Laferla recognized some "Brag for Bucks" and handed out a few fines. We had two new member introductions and Rotary Foundation recognition. Paul Adams introduced Mike West who talked about the FEI World Cup Equestrian Event coming to Omaha March 29th-April 2nd. The RISK bag was at $775 and Matt Darling won a free lunch.

Welcome Jasmine Alvarado!

Last week Holly Hollenbeck introduced us to new member Jasmine Alvarado. Jasmine is the District Coordinator for Dino's Storage and manages the financials for all 9 locations.

Jasmine is originally from New York City and attended high school in Texas. She attended Midland University in Fremont on a wrestling scholarship and received her degree in 2015. While at Midland she was ranked in the top 10 female wrestlers in the nation and also served as an assistant coach of the wrestling team there for two years.

She and her boyfriend Aspen have a a daughter named Brooklyn. In her free time she enjoys photography, working out, and eating New York style pizza. Welcome, Jasmine!

Welcome Deanna Fuller!

Last week Ashley Baker introduced us to new member Deanna Fuller. Deanna is a Global Accounts Manager for HelmsBriscoe, a leader in meetings procurement. She is also a licensed Real Estate Agent with Jim Hughes Real Estate in Glenwood, Iowa.

Deanna is from Council Bluffs and received her degree from Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. She is married to John and they have two sons in college. Deanna is an active volunteer and has spent time volunteering for Meals on Wheels, many school and church committees, and is part of the St. Vincent DePaul Committee at St. Francis of Cabrini.

In her free time, Deanna enjoys reading, walking, spending time with friends and family, and travel. Welcome, Deanna!

Rotary Foundation

Congratulations and thank you to those who were recognized by Rotary Foundation Committee Chair Howard Epstein last week for their generosity to the Rotary Foundation. The Rotary Foundation is the charity of Rotary. Through Rotary grants, people around the world are served with educational opportunities, health services, clean water, vaccinations, and nutrition. You become a Paul Harris Fellow with your cumulative donations of $1000 and then a PH+ Fellow for every $1000 beyond.

Congratulations to Rex Ekwall for becoming a Paul Harris Fellow for his donations of $1000. Matt Darling and Nick Eastland were recognized as Paul Harris +2 for donations of $3000. Eric Dawson as Paul Harris+7 for donations of $8000.

Congratulations to Mike Fosdick who completed all of his Yearling requirements and received his permanent badge last week.

Souper Bowl Food Drive/Meal Packaging Project

Our Annual "Soup"er Bowl Food Drive will be on February 3rd and 4th this year at the 88th and Center HyVee. Please go to the calendar on our website, select a date and sign up for a shift to collect donations from shoppers. All funds will be used to purchase more raw ingredients for our multi-club meal packaging project on February 25th. You can also go on the calendar and sign up for this event.

Rotary Youth Leadership Award Applications Sought

As you may be aware every April our district coordinates Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp. RYLA camp (April 7-9, 2017) is an intensive 3-day training program for High School Juniors that helps participants think critically about important issues and share ideas with talented peers, learn how to coordinate and lead community service projects, discuss the importance of good governance and civil society to the world, and finally, learn to think globally and explore issues that transcend national and cultural boundaries.

To make the camp a success we seek students from diverse backgrounds throughout the district. Diversity in this context refers to any student who is interested in local and global issues and whose participation in this program would help expand and add to their current experiences and perspectives. We seek your help to spread the word about this amazing opportunity and to encourage students you believe would benefit from this experience to apply.
