Last week re-cap 
Last week Steve Thornburg and Barbara Rebrovich and Gary Piercy served as greeters.  Eli McNichols gave our invocation. Nick Eastland hosted our new member table.  We had several announcements and recognitions.  Frank Goldberg talked about the Rotary Foundation and had Roxy Orr and Ed Walsh speak about the Polio Plus program and Global Grants. Rotary Foundation Recognition 
Last week as part of the program, Frank Goldberg recognized several members for their next level of International Rotary Foundation giving including Ed Walsh and Rose Mary Hefley as Paul Harris Fellows +1 for their donations of $2000.
Scott Keep as a Paul Harris +5 for his donations of $6000 and Roxy Orr as a Paul Harris +7 for her donations
of $8000.  Congrats and thank you to all! 
 
After Hours 
Thank you to Marlon Lofgren and Koley Jessen for hosting a fabulous After Hours last week. Mark your calendars for our next event- Keep the Kids Warm at Lindley Clothing on November 29th. 
 
 
Salvation Army Bell Ringing 
This year we are ringing the bells from 10am to 8pm at the 156th and Maple HyVee.  Dates are November 17th and December 8th. Go to the website suburbanrotary.org then the calendar and select the date to login and sign up for a time. Sign ups will also be at the meeting on Thursday.

We recently received this from a former exchange student, Michelle:
 
Hi everyone! I just want to share good news with you all about what I had been doing over the past few weeks! I participated in a English Drama Competition held by my school and our show won the first place! I also got the best leading actress award! 
I have to say, if I hadn't learned all this in US, I wouldn't have won it~ so grateful!

Northwest Rotary invites Rotarians, family members and friends to attend a Movie Night for fun, fellowship and raising funds for PolioPlus. Movie Night will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. There will be a potluck dinner from 5:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Fried chicken will be provided and attendees are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. The movie, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), will start at 6:30 p.m. after dinner. This fellowship event will be held at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, 202 South 20th Street, in Omaha. There is a suggested $20 free will offering for PolioPlus. We will need reservations for planning. Please email Vickie Backman at nwrotary@cox.net for a reservation. A flyer is attached. We hope you will join us for Movie Night!
