Meeting re-cap 5/10/18
Last week Carmela Kramer Karni and Angeline Larson served as Greeters. Josh Hammerling gave the invocation.  We had several announcements, presentations, and two new member introductions.  Nick Jasa introduced Christie Currie who talked about single moms on Mother's Day.   The RISK bag was $169 and Mark Sanford from SW Rotary won a free lunch.

Congratulations and thank you!
to Curt Peters and Nate Schwalb who were recognized by Suburban Rotary Foundation Chair Kathryn Schubert last week as members of the Executive Director's Club for their donations of $10,000 to our local Foundation in support of scholarships and other projects. Thank you for your generosity!

Welcome Angela Phillips!
Last week Ashley Baker introduced us to new member Angela Phillips. Angela is an Executive Administrative Assistant to the CFO, Director, and Department Managers at Gallup.

Angela is originally from Blair Nebraska and has two siblings including a twin sister.  She attended Kearney State College and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Communications from UNK.   She lives in Glenwood, Iowa and has been very active in the community serving on a variety of Boards and organizations including Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Mills County Extension Board,  and Youth Council.

Angela has a son who attends Iowa State and a daughter who is graduating and will be going off to Iowa State this fall as well. In her free time, Angela enjoys spending time with family, running, yoga, reading, attending Mass, and being outside.  Welcome, Angela!

Welcome Kelly Sanford!
Last week Monique Devillier introduced us to new member Kelly Sanford.  Kelly is the Owner/Formulator of Nutriterra, a health and wellness company, which specializes in natural skin care products.

Kelly attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she earned her Master's in Public Administration.  After being diagnosed with breast cancer without any family history, Kelly began to explore how environmental factors such as pollution and chemically-engineered products endanger our health. She discovered that cleaning supplies, mainstream hair and body products, and even pet supplies are full of toxins that have serious effects on our physical well-being. This revelation moved her to create her own beauty products, and for more than five years she has been researching and developing botanical formulas.

Kelly is married to Mark Sanford and is a former Southwest Omaha Rotarian.  In her free time, she enjoys golf and travel. Welcome Kelly!

Local Suburban Charitable Foundation 2018 Fundraiser
We have reached our dollar goal but  We are still at half of our goal for participation, so make a donation today!   The local Suburban Rotary Charitable Foundation supports 50K of scholarships each year to students with special needs in addition to funding projects such as military support, Crestridge school, food and shoes to the homeless, and projects around the world such as the schools in Afghanistan and Nicaragua.

Last week we recognized more members of the President's Scholarship Circle and will do so until we've recognized everyone.

Our hope is that every single member will "Stand Up For Rotary" with a donation in any amount.   If you didn't donate but would like to you can do so online by clicking HERE.
