Welcome Bob Bernier!
Last week Mary Bernier introduced us to new member, Robert "Bob" Bernier.  Bob was born in Canton, Ohio and is one of 8 children. He graduated from Kent State in journalism. While at Kent, he joined Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. After graduation, he worked for the fraternity traveling chapters in other states. Through Sigma Tau Gamma, Bob met Ronald Roskens, then president of Kent State. When Roskens became president on the Nebraska University System, he asked Bob to work for him at UNO in 1974.

Bob holds an MBA and a PhD in Public Administration. The majority of his career was spent as State Director of the Nebraska Business Development Center and Assistant Dean of UNO’s College of Business. He acquired $68 million in government grants during his tenure.

Now retired, Bob enjoys studying Sherlock Holmes and spending large amounts of time with his and Mary’s eight grandchildren. Welcome, Bob!

Rotary Leadership Institute
This is open to all members.

Engage and empower members . . .
Energize and strengthen your Rotary Club . . .
Provide Leadership Development for Members . . .
Learn about Rotary and have fun!

That is the Rotary Leadership Institute experience!

Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) is a facilitated program with active participation - not lecturing. Topics important to Rotary and Rotary Clubs such as Effective Service Projects, Membership Engagement, and understanding The Rotary Foundation are explored. You will discuss real challenges and exchange ideas.

Sign up yourself - you will be a more effective leader for your Rotary Club.

Nominate members and they will naturally become more engaged because they will have a richer Rotary experience.

RLI is for everyone - Leadership is not a position, it is action.

There are two upcoming opportunities to participate in RLI.

You must participate in the full day to get credit.

Disaster Response Grants

The Foundation can use this type of grant to respond to world-wide

events and did so last year in response to the unprecedented challenges

brought on by Covid 19. The Foundation has awarded $32 million in
