Last week Adam Nordstrom and Rose Mary Hefley served as our greeters. Jared Wills gave the invocation. We had several announcements and presentations. Peggy Carrell presented the Omahan of the Year award to Dr. John Christensen on behalf of the 4 Way Test Committee. Mary Bernier introduced Dr. Christensen and he spoke about the progress of UNO and future goals. We drew for a winner in the RISK bag and Harry Reyburn, Dick Caulk, Jack Hosking, and Monique Devillier all won free lunches. Dr. Christensen was the winner and he donated the $131 proceeds to our scholarship fund.
Congratulations to Lee Myers who was selected as the Yearling of the Year! Lee has spent countless hours working on our audio and visual system and with Anthony's to make sure we can have the best meetings possible. He is also very active in our service projects and social events.
Volleyball Tournament Fundraiser
100% of the proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the Suburban Rotary Club’s Charitable Foundation to provide post graduate scholarships for high school seniors with special needs.
We received a thank you from Direct Relief for the $1000 donated from our local Suburban Rotary Charitable Foundation to relief for earthquake victims in Nepal.
We also donate $300 each year to the Omaha Public Library Foundation to purchase children's books in honor of our speakers throughout the year. We received a thank you for this donation as well.
ATTENDANCE at Suburban Rotary needs to be at 50% of the meetings. Make-ups also count.
