Welcome Gary Piercy!
Last week Kathryn Schubert introduced us to new member Gary Piercy.   Gary is a native Omahan and has been a commercial banker for 20 years.  Last summer he joined Bank of America where is helping bring the brand to Omaha.

Gary is married to Tina and they have two children.  Gary is active in the community having volunteered with Junior Achievement, Special Olympics, TeamMates, and other organizations.  Gary's family also hosted a Suburban Rotary exchange student 5 years ago.   He is also a U.S. Army Gulf War Veteran.  In his free time, Gary enjoys golf and being a Nebraska High School Basketball Official.  Welcome, Gary!

Suburban Rotary Charitable Foundation Fundraiser
We are in the middle of our annual  fundraiser which supports all of our club's activities including our fabulous Scholarship Program. Our goal for this drive is $40,000.  So far with donations last week, we are at $24,470 or at 61% of our goal.  Our hope is that all club members will support this drive with a donation of any amount.

Thank you to those who have already donated this year.   Scholarship Circle Members (donation or pledge of $300) are indicated in bold.

Rotary Leadership Institute provides an opportunity for Rotary Club Members to discover Rotary.  This is not "position-specific training".  It is a facilitated, activity-based program that allows all participants to share experiences and solve problems.  We all work together:

Participants are:
- Long-term members and New Members
- Young and Old
- Some Members have Club Positions, some do not
- District Leaders will be at the sessions

The Participants will:
- Spend some time learning about Rotary
- Use and enhance your leadership skills
- Make new friends and build partnerships
- Get more out of Rotary

Recent testimonial:  I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at RLI.  I have met many interesting people and, with each session, leave with a new enthusiasm for Rotary.  I believe that everyone should attend RLI.

Please contact Jennifer if you are interested in this opportunity.
