Welcome Carol Ebdon!
Last week Mary Bernier introduced us to new member Carol Ebdon.  Carol Ebdon is a Professor in the School of Public Administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Her teaching and research relate to government and nonprofit budgeting and financial management.  She also served as the Finance Director for the City of Omaha from 2004-2009. Dr. Ebdon is originally from Toledo, Ohio, and worked for local government in upstate New York before completing her Ph.D. in Public Administration from the State University of New York at Albany in 1997.

Carol is transferring from the Omaha North Rotary Club, where she served as President, Treasurer, and Assistant District Governor. She is currently the President of the Board of Youth Care and Beyond, Treasurer of the Cathedral Arts Project, and a member of the Friends of the Omaha Public Library Board. She is an elected Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration, and is active in other national professional organizations.

Volunteers needed to fight human trafficking!
Suburban Rotary is leading a multi-club District Grant to fight sex trafficking in District 5650 by training hotel/motel workers how to spot signs of trafficking and report to law enforcement.  The District is partnering with the Coalition on Human Trafficking to do this.

We are looking for Rotarians who are willing to attend a 4 hour training session in the next couple of months and then commit to training 3 hotels/motels (45 minutes each) over the next six months.  You can make a difference in eliminating this scourge from our community.

CLICK HERE to select a session.  For questions contact Jennifer at the office.
