Sportswriter Greg Echlin talked about his career which began as a college student when he visited Omaha for a NCAA basketball game in 1977. The free lancer worked for several radio stations, The Kansas City Star, and even the Omaha World Herald. With the advent of digital formats, he has had to pitch his stories and he does work with NPR and FlatWater Free Press. He likens his current work like that of Charles Karult, who traveled the world for stories.
