Although he was introduced to the club in December 2024, his background and picture were never included in Scuttlebutt. Captain Alex Yanez is part of the ministry team at the Salvation Army's Kroc Center. Originally from Santiago, Chile, he graduated with a degree in finance auditing from a college in Santiago. In 2017, he earned a certification in Kroc Center Leadership from Booth College University. Currently, he is studying Organizational Leadership at Indiana Wesleyan University. Before entering the ministry, Capt. Alex pursued various business careers, including owning a restaurant, a real estate firm, a consulting office, and a children's clothing store in Santiago. He also worked in finance for The Salvation Army’s Territorial Headquarters in Santiago before answering God's call to serve through the ministry of The Salvation Army.
 
Along with his wife, Captain Alex began their ministry with The Salvation Army in Kansas City in 2004 and later served at the Kroc Center in Green Bay, WI. In 2021, they came to the Omaha Kroc Center from the Cold Spring Corps near Milwaukee, where they served for four years. While an officer at the Cold Spring Corps, Capt. Alex was also the multicultural ministries coordinator and Echelon Milwaukee liaison for the Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Division. 
 
The family is passionate about teaching, planning, and organizing events.  Additionally, they have a special fondness for youth work. The Yanez family enjoys spending quality time with their two adult daughters. Captain Alex also likes cycling and playing tennis.
