Last week David Kutler introduced us to new member Al Batschelet.  Al is the President and CEO of the First Responder Foundation of Omaha.  It is a non-profit organization with a mission to enhance public safety and build community appreciation and respect for First Responders.

Al is originally from rural Iowa and attended Iowa State University.  He also joined the Iowa National Guard and ROTC while in college.  By the time he graduated with his bachelor's degree he was a Second Lieutenant.    Al served 33 years in the Army and retired as a Major General.  He had many varied assignments and at different times oversaw the Army's talent acquisition enterprise at the Recruiting Command and helped oversee America's strategic, nuclear, cyber, and space forces at U.S. Strategic Command.

Al is a former Rotarian with Iowa Great Lakes in Spirit Lake, Iowa.  He is married to Terri and enjoys hunting, fishing, and motorcycling in his free time.  Welcome, Al!
