Our Rotary Foundation Committee (the charitable arm of Rotary Intl) will be bringing you a "Rotary Foundation Minute" each week this fall. The Rotary Foundation is the charitable arm of Rotary. The Foundation transforms donations into service projects.
The mission of the Foundation is to enable Rotary members to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.
The Foundation was started in 1917 by RI President Arch Klumph. The initial contribution was $26.50. Since that time the Foundation has sponsored 4.5 billion dollars worth of projects and programs.
Charity Navigator has given the RF a 4 star rating, its highest rating, for 9 straight years. Only 1% of the rated charities have achieved this. 92% of the funds contributed go to awards and operations.
