Winter’s frigid temperatures along with snow, ice and wind can make survival a challenge for Omaha’s homeless and near-homeless population. Salvation Army mobile food trucks make multiple stops across the city to distribute hot meals and beverages, as well as winter coats, gloves, hats, socks and blankets to anyone in need. Once again, this year Suburban Rotary is providing volunteers to serve meals; two persons per shift.

Dates are: Tuesday, January 6,Thursday, January 15, Tuesday, January 20, Tuesday, February 3, Thursday, February 12, and Tuesday, February 17.

Volunteers meet at 10629 Burt Street Omaha at 5: 15 p.m. and work until 8:15 p.m.

Last year we helped provided more than 8,000 meals and hundreds of winter outerwear items to those struggling to survive the harsh winter.
